"All'Estero come a Casa" in Australia: quale è il nome della rete 3?

H3G in Australia si è fusa completamente con Vodafone fondando una nuova società di nome Vodafone Hutchison Australia Pty Ltd, quindi sono diventati un unico operatore, 3 Australia ha il roming nazionale con Telstra in gsm e con Vodafone Australia (essendo diventata la stessa rete). Tre australia ha anche attivo il roaming nazionale con Telstra in UMTS a 850 Mhz solo dove pero' non è presente già l'Umts della stessa Tre.
Non saprei adesso se per rientrare nella promozione all'estero come ha casa bisogna stare per forza sotto rete 3 Australia e quindi Vodafone Australia oppure sotto Teltra

@Tony: il merge delle reti non l'hanno ancora fatto, non è come in UK con Everything Everywhere che ora per il roaming internazionale viene visto come un operatore singolo. (per ora)

Three operates a 2100 MHz 3G network in a 50/50 partnership with Telstra^[5] (the radio networks are shared, the core networks are separate), covering approximately 56% of Australia's population. The 3G network covers Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth, the Gold Coast, Canberra, Geelong, Frankston and Wollongong. In areas not covered by the joint 3G network, customers are able to roam on Telstra's Next G 850 MHz 3G network (if the phone supports it), and Telstra's 900 MHz and 1800 MHz 2G networks. This agreement allows Three to offer coverage to up to 96% of the population. The Vodafone 2G and 3G (2100/900 MHz) networks originally operated as a single network, separate to the Three network. During the merger, VHA had made no comment on their intention to combine the 3 and Vodafone networks, or offer roaming between them. However, as of late 2009, roaming onto the Vodafone's 2G network was enabled for Three customers in areas that had limited 3G coverage (e.g. blackspots), handsets now show '3 2G' instead of 'Roaming'. There are no additional charges in '3's 2G zone', although data speeds are limited.

In late 2010 VHA announced plans to consolidate the Three and Vodafone networks, in an attempt to better compete with Telstra's Next G network, which currently holds the most number of subscribers in Australia (9.3 million). The plan includes the expansion of UMTS 900/2100 MHz coverage in 900 metropolitan sites and 500 outer metropolitan sites across Australia, an end to the 3GIS network (3's UMTS 2100 MHz network, which it has a 50% stake with, the other 50% being held by Telstra), as well as the roll out of 1400 UMTS-850 base stations - 850 MHz being the same band in which the Next G network operates. VHA has spent $550 million on the project so far.^[6]

allora la situazione è chiarissima, credetemi è semplicissimo. Il display deve dire 3TELSTRA. Solo così siete sotto copertura 3. Vodafone NON funziona (la rete non si aggancia)
nelle grandi città trovate copertura senz'altro (adelaide e sydney sono coperte al 100%..qualche dubbio nel Queensland dove a Cairns nn avevo rete, solo la optus prendeva)

PS: per chiamare bisogna sempre usare il roaming indiretto 101 altrimenti non va

se avete bisogno io ci sono (e spendo 10 cent a messaggiare con l'italia alla faccia di chi ne spende 15 a messaggiare col vicino di casa)

No. Tre e Vodafone in Australia sono la stessa cosa. Identiche. Solo che la rete vodafone è inaccessibile per i Tre. Non so come mai. Anche per i Tre Australia è cosi. Mio fratello ha un contratto con l'ex tre che ha fatto due anni fa e non prende quasi mai..ed è nella stessa stanza con me che ho un CrazyJohn che è un MNVO di Vodafone: in poche parole le reti 3 e vodafone sono due cose diverse (solo la rete però!)
Non chiedetemi perchè. La telefonia è totalemnte diversa in Australia (andrei OT per spiegarla)

Sai che me lo sono sempre chiesto come mai esce 3TELSTRA? (perchè 3 e Telstra non hanno nulla in comune!)

ho trovato la soluzione. In poche parole siccome l'Australia è grande e coprirla tutta è difficile 3 e Telstra hanno la rete 3G in comune. Solo quella. Niente altro (ricordo che se con la vostra sim 3italia andato sotto rete "Telstra" pagate come all'estero non con la 3like home). Ecco perchè il nome "3TELSTRA".

Esempio pratico: esce una nuova tecnologia SuperMegaHuspaStraVeloce che si chiama 5G. Wind e Tim si mettono insieme per costruire la rete. Solo quella.E chiamano la rete "I WIND TIM".
Spero di essere stato chiaro. Ad ogni modo chiedetemi se avete perplessità

ciao a tutti, la mia ragazza è appena arrivata a sydney. Sul display del telefono le compare 3 (niente 3 telstra o 3 vodafone....) e di fianco alle tacche relative alle ricezione è presente la R di roaming. è la dicitura corretta?ha un optimus one, quindi un android. Grazie!

riesci a postarmi unp screen x favore? ad ogni modo si, dovrebbe essere sotto rete 3. La prova più "facile" è inviare un sms: al massimo ti tolgono 1 o 2 €..ma 99% dovrebbe pagarlo solo 10 cent..kmq mi sembra strano che esce solo 3..
